Combi Oven Problems in Las Vegas Kitchens: Scale, Steam and Cleaning Faults

Most combi oven calls in Las Vegas trace back to water: scale in the steam generator, clogged water inlet screens and drain problems. Use the water treatment the manufacturer specifies, run the automatic cleaning and descaling programs as scheduled, keep the drain clear and the water supply on. Error codes differ by brand and model, so note the code and call if it returns after a restart.

6 checks you can do safely

  1. Keep the water supply on. Many water faults are simply a closed valve after cleaning or maintenance.
  2. Use the specified water treatment. Combi ovens are sensitive to hardness; a filter or softener extends generator life.
  3. Run cleaning on schedule. Use the manufacturer's cleaning tabs or chemicals; interrupted cleans leave residue and faults.
  4. Keep the drain clear. Grease and food in the drain trigger drain and steam faults.
  5. Check the door gasket. A torn gasket loses steam and heat and can trip faults.
  6. Record the code. Codes are model-specific; the exact cause is confirmed on site.

When to call a technician

  • No steam or humidity after cleaning.
  • Water or drain faults that return.
  • Convection fan noise or no heat.

Stay safe

Unplug the appliance (or switch off its breaker) before touching anything inside it, and never open a sealed refrigeration system, a gas valve or a microwave. If a code points to a part, the part has to be tested before it is replaced; we do that on the $75 diagnostic visit, credited toward the repair.
