On LG ranges and wall ovens, F1, F2, F4 and F5 are oven temperature sensor errors, F3 is a stuck keypad, F6 or F16 means the oven got too hot, F7 or F17 is a convection fan error, F9 or F19 means no heat, F10 or F20 is a door-lock failure, F11 is a communication error and F42 means house voltage is too high. Turn the breaker off for 5 minutes; codes that return need a technician.
Try this first
- Turn the range off and switch the breaker off for 5 minutes.
- For no-heat codes on gas models, make sure the gas supply valve is on.
- If you smell gas, leave the home and call Southwest Gas from outside.
Oven codes
| Code | What it means | What you can do |
|---|
| F1 / F2 | Upper (or single) oven temperature sensor error | Technician repair. |
| F4 / F5 | Lower oven sensor error (on some models warming drawer sensor) | Technician repair. |
| F3 | Keypad error — a key stuck or no input | Breaker reset; repeats need the touch panel. |
| F6 / F16 | Oven too hot outside self-clean | Turn off and let it cool; call before using it again. |
| F7 / F17 | Convection fan not detected | Technician repair. |
| F9 / F19 | No heat — oven didn't warm up | Check gas supply; then igniter, element or control. |
| F10 / F20 | Door lock failure (self-clean) | Don't force the door; call. |
| F11 | Communication error between boards | Breaker reset; repeats need diagnosis. |
| F27 | Cooling fan stalled during self-clean | Technician repair. |
| F42 | House voltage too high | Have the electrical supply checked. |
Induction cooktop codes
| Code | What it means | What you can do |
|---|
| CF1 – CF4 | Burner temperature sensor errors | Technician repair. |
| CF5 / CF6 | Inverter board failure | Technician repair. |
| CF7 / CF8 | Communication error with an inverter board | Breaker reset; repeats need diagnosis. |
Not a failure
| Code | What it means | What you can do |
|---|
| HS | Hot surface warning | Normal while the cooktop is above about 150°F. |
| SB | Sabbath mode on | Turn off Sabbath mode. |
Codes and their meaning can vary by model and production year, and the same code can have different causes. Where sources disagree we say so; in every case the exact cause is confirmed only by a technician's on-site diagnosis. Your owner's manual has the definitive list for your model.
Stay safe
Unplug the appliance (or switch off its breaker) before touching anything inside it, and never open a sealed refrigeration system, a gas valve or a microwave. If a code points to a part, the part has to be tested before it is replaced; we do that on the $75 diagnostic visit, credited toward the repair.
Frequently asked questions
