Thermador and Bosch Oven Error Codes: What They Mean and What to Do

Thermador and Bosch Benchmark ovens use E-codes whose meaning changes from model to model. E011 is usually a touch control fault (a stuck or falsely pressed key). E106 and E115 point to the upper oven — door latch, convection fan or overheating, depending on the model. Reset the breaker once and note the full code and model number; if it returns, a technician confirms the cause with the model's service data.

Want it fixed instead? Same-day or next-day visits across the Las Vegas Valley — the $75 diagnostic is credited toward the repair.

Try this first

  1. Switch the breaker off for 5 minutes; let a hot oven cool first.
  2. Wipe the touch panel dry — moisture can trigger E011-type control errors.
  3. Write down the full code, which oven (upper/lower) and the model number on the frame.

E011Touch control error — stuck or false key press (most models)Dry and clean the panel; breaker reset.
E106Meaning varies by model or production year — sources disagree (upper door latch or convection fan)Model-specific: a technician visit is needed to find the exact cause.
E115Meaning varies by model or production year — sources disagree (upper oven too hot or sensor circuit)Stop using the oven; model-specific: a technician visit is needed to find the exact cause.

Codes and their meaning can vary by model and production year, and the same code can have different causes. Where sources disagree we say so; in every case the exact cause is confirmed only by a technician's on-site diagnosis. Your owner's manual has the definitive list for your model.

Code came back after these checks? That means a part has failed — let a technician confirm it before parts are guessed.

Stay safe

Unplug the appliance (or switch off its breaker) before touching anything inside it, and never open a sealed refrigeration system, a gas valve or a microwave. If a code points to a part, the part has to be tested before it is replaced; we do that on the $75 diagnostic visit, credited toward the repair.
